VIENNA — The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that entrances to Iran’s underground uranium enrichment facility at Natanz were struck during recent military attacks by the United States and Israel.
According to the agency, analysis of the latest satellite imagery shows new damage to entrance buildings at the underground Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP) at the Natanz Nuclear Facility.
The IAEA said no radiological consequences are expected and that no additional impact was detected inside the underground facility itself, which had already been severely damaged during the June conflict.
The agency’s findings align with an assessment by the Institute for Science and International Security, which reported that the recent strikes did not appear to have caused major new damage within the site.
Regional tensions remain high as U.S. and Israeli military operations targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure continue to raise security concerns across the Middle East.
